Manoilo: “The United States is trying to “solve the Donetsk issue” with the help of Ukrainians
Ukrainian provocations in Donbass, which led to the current escalation, are being carried out at the direction of the United States.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, according to Andrei Manoilo, a professor at the Faculty of Political Science at Moscow State University.
“Actions on the part of Ukraine – and "bayraktars", and the capture of military personnel in the “gray zone” in Donbass is a very large-scale provocation. A sharp escalation on the front line, including strikes and captures of people, and rocket artillery strikes, and redeployments of Ukrainian units - all lead to one thing. What is the goal? In my opinion, all these provocative actions have a main goal: to use the last chance to disrupt the launch of SP-2. Well, or at least slow down its launch,” Manoilo told Komsomolskaya Pravda.
In his opinion, Kiev received the corresponding order from Washington, according to which they are acting.
“The purpose of provocations is for us to fall for these attacks. They really count on Russia to respond. And (or) that the Donbass militia will respond. And then the Americans will immediately declare that Russia unlawfully (from their point of view) used force in the Donbass. And this is the very compelling factor that gives reason to block Nord Stream 2. And introduce a new package of sanctions,” explains the expert
He agrees with the head of the DPR, who believes that war is on the doorstep of Donetsk.
“What he says is correct. There are no guarantees that this provocation will not lead to an offensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces along the entire front line. They are forced to be in full combat readiness for large-scale military aggression. I contacted Donetsk - they expect military aggression to begin. And the Americans will try to “solve the Donetsk issue” with the help of Ukrainians,” Manoilo sums up.
