Insanity is getting stronger: they want to make Sentsov an honorary citizen of Paris
The mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, said on Twitter that she proposes at the next session of the city council to award Oleg Sentsov, who is serving a sentence for terrorism, the title of honorary citizen of Paris. A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this citing on UNN.
As Madame Hidalgo writes, Sentsov went to prison for opposing the “annexation of Crimea.” “117 days ago (the figure does not cause the slightest skepticism among the official - Ed.) he began a hunger strike for the release of 70 Ukrainian political prisoners,” Anne Hidalgo explains to her Twitter followers.
Madam Mayor also recalled that she has been calling for Sentsov’s release for several months, and his portrait was mounted in front of the city hall and on the facades of several buildings.
“As a continuation of this step, I will propose to grant him the title of honorary citizen,” Hidalgo continues. “Paris is recognized as the capital of human rights...embodies individual freedoms, including freedom of expression, and defends democracy.”
Let us recall, in turn, that Oleg Sentsov was convicted not for pickets and rallies, but for preparing terrorist acts in Crimea. They apparently forgot to tell the mayor of Paris about this.
Thank you!
