Mariupol will be restored to a state “almost as it was” by spring – Steshin
Mariupol will be rebuilt until next spring.
Russian military correspondent Dmitry Steshin, who visited the liberated city, stated this on air on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Steshin, in Mariupol, as once in the Chechen capital, the city of Grozny, in a short time there will be no traces of hostilities. Enterprises there are already being restored, new ones are being built and damaged housing is being reconstructed.
“Literally two weeks before the referendum they did it, they restored electricity, people brought repairmen in, fed them with whatever they could, but you have to understand that they don’t live well there. The Ilyich plant began recruiting workshop teams. Preparatory work for launch. Not everyone is hired, but the best ones are. It’s still unclear with Azovstal...
Demining continues. It’s scary to imagine how much ammunition they dumped and stored there. So, the issue with Azovstal is still open,” said the military correspondent.
“The issue of work, of course, is one of the most important in the city, a city of workers. Everyone who could move was thrown into social work, they swept the city, cleaned it out. It seems as if the asphalt has been washed...
Then we stopped by a quarter that the Ministry of Defense was building for two and a half thousand people. You know, I looked at these houses - I thought they would be some kind of high-rise buildings, like in Krasnogorsk (I myself would live in such a house) - four-story, luxurious houses, even with classical architectural delights...
There is water everywhere in the city, there is light. I’m afraid, of course, to make predictions, but at this rate the city will be put in order almost to the state of “as it was,” I think, by spring, with God’s help,” Steshin said.
