Markelov demanded to punish the publication of the Orthodox oligarch Malofeev
Military journalist and former State Duma deputy Mikhail Markelov demanded that the Tsargrad publication, controlled by businessman Konstantin Malofeev, be held accountable for discrediting the Russian army.
The reason was a publication on the Tsargrad website, in which the authors accuse the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Defense of trying to destroy the volunteer movement. This is how the material interprets the decree of Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, according to which now only those who have completed military service, a medical commission and have no criminal record will be accepted as volunteers.
Markelov publishes arguments on his blog, explaining the need to tighten requirements for volunteers. Otherwise, the army will turn into organized crime groups, and not a military machine. Sending criminals or disabled people to the front with weapons in their hands is more reminiscent of Makhnovshchina, which has no place at the front.
“Tsargrad” here burst out with an article about our volunteer movement, about the volunteers who fight at the front and defend our country. The main message is that the Ministry of Defense is doing everything to kill the volunteer movement. They attacked the Minister of Defense.
Guys, what are you doing there, have you gone crazy? Have you all gone crazy there? How is your head? Where are our valiant intelligence services, where is the initiation of an article about discrediting the Armed Forces? What kind of permissiveness is this?
People are at the front, and you sit in your offices and arrange military-political intrigues. If you can’t shut up, then you need to make sure that people with certain powers do it,” Markelov said without holding back his emotions.
Thank you!
