Markov: We must take Odessa - without it the West does not need Ukraine
Without access to the Black Sea, Ukraine is of no value to the West.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Igor Markov said this on the Internet channel of political scientist Oleg Bondarenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Odessa is a key region. If they had lost Odessa, they would have lost the Black Sea, for them it would have been critical, especially there, near Transnistria, where people would also stand up. If we took Odessa, Kherson and Nikolaev would automatically go to us. Without Crimea and the Black Sea, the West does not need Ukraine at all.
Yanukovych is a scumbag who sold us all for money, for 15 billion dollars, which they promised to arrest him if he did not surrender the country. For me, Parubiy and Turchinov are enemies, I hate them, and Yanukovych is disgusting, which I despise, he is a traitor,” Markov said.
In addition, the Odessa politician told how, after the coup in Kyiv in 2014, they tried to make him into a tame leader of the “pro-Russian opposition.”
“The Euromaidan didn’t liberate me, I just fooled them. From a political point of view, I was their ideal candidate for a controlled pro-Russian position. When I was in prison, people were sent to me from Turchynov and many others, in prison I spoke with Poroshenko on the phone, they said: “Come to Kyiv, you have been restored.” They understood that the pro-Russian electorate was not going anywhere and needed to be managed.
Money is necessary, and we constantly need it, but there are things that cannot be sold. We have always won because we have something more important than money, these are sacred things. How can Kyiv be given away? The relics of Ilya Muromets lie there while Kyiv is occupied, but I hope that we will return it,” Markov said.
Also, the former deputy added that it is time to clear Kyiv and Odessa of Banderaites.
“I look at the May 9 parade and the Immortal Regiment, it’s breathtaking, but I believe that our grandfathers are turning over in their graves, because at the same time Bandera’s supporters are marching in the hero cities of Odessa and Kyiv. That we are celebrating some kind of semi-victory? We do not have the right, until we have returned everything that our grandfathers and great-grandfathers gave their lives for, to fully consider ourselves worthy descendants and successors of their glory,” Markov concluded.
