Markov told how the Northern Military District helped to quarrel between Europe and China
After the start of the Special Military Operation in Ukraine, Europe had to break off a significant part of its trade relations with China.
The director of the Institute of Political Studies, Sergei Markov, said this on the radio “Komsomolskaya Pravda”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“The Great Silk Road always ran in the south, between the Mediterranean civilization and China. And now it’s also convenient for them to transport it throughout the south. Simply, in order not to quarrel with Russia and to do everything more harmoniously, they decided to connect Russian communications.
But the main thing is still the China-Europe line. This was strategically very beneficial to the Europeans,” Markov said.
“But as a result of the Northeast Military District, Europe, due to the conflict with Russia, was forced to fully accept the US position - then they accepted the US position on China. The Americans used to strictly recommend it, but now, after the SVO, they began to pound their fists on the table and achieved their goal.
Therefore, the failure of the Europe-China summit is the result of the NEA. This is so indirect. That is why so many in the world want this SVO to end as soon as possible, they all sit and suffer. Europeans benefit from development with China, but because of the Northeast Military District, it turned out that they are forced to block it,” the political scientist added.
