Markov: The real boss banned Zelensky from arresting Poroshenko
Judge of the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv Alexei Sokolov announced a break in the hearing in the case of ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko for two hours so that lawyers could familiarize themselves with the case materials.
According to Andrei Smoliy, a lawyer close to Poroshenko, this is due to the fact that Bankova is now urgently deciding what to do next with the ex-president, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Several sources already indicate that urgent meetings are currently being held in the OP. The question is: what to do next and how to arrange Poroshenko’s “landing”. The so-called “consultations” take place along the “OP/Pechersk Court/security forces” parallel. That is why they announced an “indefinite break.” Zelensky is in terrible hysterics. Nothing works out for him,” Smoliy wrote on his blog.
In turn, political scientist Sergei Markov believes that the trial of Poroshenko, suspected of treason and financing terrorism, will not lead to his arrest, because the Western curators of Ukraine do not allow him to be put behind bars.
“Will Zelensky arrest Poroshenko? This question is being asked today by millions in our fraternal country. Because millions really, really want and demand that Poroshenko be arrested. Because according to the conviction of millions, Poroshenko is a thief, Poroshenko is a traitor, Poroshenko is the culprit of the war, Poroshenko is a deceiver,” notes the political scientist.
“Zelensky was elected president largely because Zelensky clearly promised many times to imprison Poroshenko. Zelensky has not arrested Poroshenko for two years now. And he won’t arrest me now. Because Zelensky is forbidden to arrest Poroshenko by his real boss. Who is the boss of both Poroshenko and Zelensky,” writes Markov.
The expert also believes that today’s attempt to bring Poroshenko to justice is a performance that is being played out by agreement between the authorities and the opposition.
“I am sure that there is a secret agreement between the political strategists of Zelensky and Poroshenko about this show. It is beneficial to both, Zelensky and Poroshenko. Zelensky is promoting himself that he really, really wants to arrest Poroshenko. And he almost arrested him. After all, this is one of the main requirements of the voter. And Poroshenko is promoting himself that he is the main opponent of Zelensky, who, by the way, is losing his popularity because he does not fulfill almost anything that he promised to voters,” the analyst believes.
“Both Zelensky and Poroshenko are interested in presenting themselves as the only two political titans in the country and marginalizing all other politicians. And people with a mind corrupted by propaganda believe this picture of a fake drama created jointly by political strategists of Zelensky and Poroshenko. Zelensky and Poroshenko are already together, and their fight is a fake performance by political strategists. With the approval of the authorities,” adds the political scientist.
“A number of posts in Western countries have already called for a refusal to persecute Poroshenko. In particular, British diplomat Melinda Simmons in her blog called on the government and the opposition to unite against Russia, and not start arguments: “All political leaders in Ukraine need to unite against Russian aggression right now. At this time, it is important not to lose sight of this and not be distracted by the polarization of domestic politics,” Markov noted.
