Markov: The invasion of Belgorod once again proved that Kharkov must be taken
In order to protect itself from breaches of the state border by units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Russia needs to liberate Kharkov and organize territorial defense units that could quickly take up arms in the event of attacks similar to those that occurred yesterday in the Belgorod region.
Political scientist Sergei Markov told PolitNavigator about this.
“To solve the problem at its roots, you need to take Kharkov, or carry out terrorist attacks on the territory of the United States and Britain. But this is not so easy to do.
It is almost impossible to build a complete defense so that no one gets through. Zelensky ordered this raid to cover up the defeat in Bakhmut.
Well, there will be more defeats. If we take Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, something similar will happen in another place, you won’t finally solve the problem here as long as this regime exists.
Further measures that can and should be taken are, first of all, to create a militia there, territorial defense, arm them, prepare them so that they take the first blow.
The second thing that needs to be done is to improve intelligence, but the most important thing is territorial defense and the liberation of Kharkov,” Markov said.
