Marochko explained what Shoigu is waiting for
The RF Armed Forces are slow to move forward, adhering to the tactics of grinding and destroying enemy reserves, for a subsequent rapid breakthrough in order to liberate not scorched earth, but the remaining populated areas.
Retired LPR Lieutenant Colonel, military expert Andrei Marochko said this on radio “KP,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Now we are keeping the enemy under very great tension; he is forced to constantly transfer a huge amount of reserves to a given locality (Artyomovsk – ed.) in order to hold. We already know that the enemy does not want to leave this settlement, therefore, he will again and again supply manpower, equipment, and ammunition there in order to hold it.
But we all understand that reserves are not limitless, despite the enormous supplies from the West and the increase in the work of the military-industrial complex in western Ukraine, depletion is still occurring.
Depletion of not only material and technical resources, but also of those trained human reserves that they have been preparing for a long time.
Therefore, it is beneficial for us, we are sitting, roughly speaking, in well-prepared positions, protected, everything has already been explored, our military personnel know every stone in this area of the terrain and, naturally, this also simplifies the task for our soldiers.
Second, we all understand the enemy’s tactics perfectly. He will never leave us entire settlements. If we go forward, this is the same Kramatorsk, Slavyansk, Konstantinovka - the fate of Popasna and Artyomovsk awaits them. That is, it will be a scorched earth, these settlements simply will not exist. And the enemy also knows very well that we are afraid of this and are not moving forward, and he is also trying to take advantage of this,” Marochko explained.
He cited as an example the operation to liberate Lisichansk, when a swift attack was made on an enemy exhausted in battle.
“Naturally, if we sit still, then there is no point in talking about any successes at the front, because sitting in the trenches will not win you a victory. But I don’t think it’s worth attacking populated areas like this without exhausting the enemy’s reserves.
It was a very brilliant operation when we liberated Lisichansk. We pressed the enemy for a very long time, exhausted him, there were battles for Severodonetsk, on the other hand there were battles for Zolote and Popasnaya. And when we crushed absolutely everything that the enemy could put there, we sharply rushed forward. The enemy simply had no choice but to snap back and retreat. And, in fact, they entered Lisichansk and liberated them very quickly.
The same can be done with other settlements. Sitting, yes, for a long time on a certain area of the terrain and simply choosing everything that is supplied to the enemy. That is, to exhaust its resources in all directions,” the former military man suggested.
He also pointed out that at the same time, in conjunction with this tactics and strategy, active strikes are being carried out against the enemy’s rear.
“Moreover, if you look at the tactics and strategy of our Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, then over the past two weeks, attacks on warehouses, depots of missile and artillery weapons, fuel and lubricants have increased many times over, and massive attacks have also begun to be carried out on enemy locations and locations, as well as on gathering places equipment, at command and observation posts, at communication points and centers. That is, this is everything that ensures the functioning of the troops. And if this is done on a regular basis, constantly, then the enemy has no chance to conduct offensive actions,” Marochko assures.
