Ukrainian machine-building plants will be cut into scrap metal (VIDEO)
Kyiv, December 21 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – If Ukraine leaves Russia, then it will have to urgently cut its industry for scrap metal in order to take advantage of the still good prices for metal.
Such sad prospects for Ukrainian industrial production were outlined by the President of the Ukrainian Economic Center Alexander Okhrimenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

At a press conference in Kyiv, he pointed out, citing data from the State Statistics Service, that at present the Ukrainian mechanical engineering industry has suffered the most from the crisis.
“I believe that the biggest winners will be those who buy up machine-building plants on the cheap, sell them as scrap metal and build business centers,” the economist jokes gloomily. – The mechanical engineering industry is completely collapsing, and in today’s situation all that remains is to cut up enterprises for scrap metal. So far the metal price is good. Then in the future no one will need them at all.”
The director of the Ukrainian Analytical Center also proposes to cut the famous Kiev airline company Antonov into metal.
“The Antonov Design Bureau is a piece of the Soviet military-industrial complex,” reminds Alexander Okhrimenko. – If we left Russia (and we actually declared this and are acting), then it is clear that today it needs to be closed - whether we like it or not. Boeing is good, but it is a competitor to the Soviet military-industrial complex. And all the talk about some kind of cooperation with him is unrealistic. But this place will turn out to be a good microdistrict.”
