This was announced by the official representative of the People's Militia Andrei Marochko.
“As you may have noticed, the events were colorful and large-scale. More than 4 thousand LPR military personnel were involved. Also, more than 1,2 thousand units of all kinds of equipment were involved,” he said.
Motorized rifle, tank and artillery units, as well as air defense forces, were involved in the exercises, during which, in particular, the tasks of launching a counter-offensive with crossing water barriers were practiced.
“There was artillery preparation and tank offensives, there were advances in combat formations of infantry fighting vehicles, and there was also cover by anti-aircraft units,” Marochko said.
He noted that “the exercises were as close as possible to the conditions of real combat operations,” which made it possible to assess the ability of commanders and soldiers to make decisions in a changing situation.
The major said that the exercises were the final stage of the People's Militia's combat training during the summer training period.
“This was the final stage of the exercise, when each soldier showed what he had learned during the summer training period,” he said.
“The exercises went well. All assigned tasks were completed according to the action plan,” emphasized the representative of the defense department of the Republic.
Earlier, Marochko reported that, based on the situation, the command of the People's Militia of the LPR “is forced to reconsider the plans for the combat training of its units, placing the main emphasis on offensive and counter-offensive actions.”
