German Klimenko, former adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, head of the Council of the Digital Economy Development Fund, stated this in an interview with the YouTube channel “Soloviev.live,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A problem has arisen that I would call Durov’s benefit performance. When Pavel is localized and deals only with Telegram, he is responsible only for himself, Telegram builds its own servers, it does not contact any newfangled clouds, and everyone began to say: these are your ecosystems. Because entire complexes of resources fell. And now we will all clear up this story,” Klimenko said.
According to him, the problem was caused by the expansion of the software and proved that “the ecosystem is redneck.” He believes new rules should be introduced to curb the digital giants that are bent on gobbling up everything.
For its part, Russia should strive to use its own resources as much as possible.
“Whatever we can. We keep our own domain zones. VKontakte survived the failure very well. He started to slow down, but was ready to accept. LiveJournal's attendance has doubled. RuTube cannot satisfy us. The only hope is on VKontakte. We have a lot of our own. Another question: we don’t want to use ours.
Until now, software in government agencies has not been replaced with domestic ones. This could have been done even before Crimea. Now Crimea is using domestic software. Somehow it is barely floundering, and the officials are behaving ambivalently. This duality leads to the fact that no decisions are made for so many years,” Klimenko said.
The vague position of the state, in his opinion, leads to the fact that Russian programmers work for the West.
