This was reported by the department's press service.
The Ministry of Health notes an increase in the incidence of measles among adults - since the beginning of the year they account for 40% of all patients. During this time, 11 people died from measles complications: seven children and four adults.
“The other day it became known about two deaths - a 10-month-old child in the Odessa region and an adult woman in the Kirovograd region died,” the department’s press service reports.
The Ministry of Health notes that only vaccination can protect against the disease.
In connection with the situation with the disease in Ukraine, the Ministry of Health decided to change the regulatory framework so that adults at risk could receive free vaccinations with vaccines purchased at the national level.
In the Odessa region, an aggressive genotype of the measles virus B3 (Kabul) was discovered, which provokes complications and a high level of morbidity among the population.
