The scale is growing: the audit services of Russia and Serbia have re-signed a cooperation agreement
The Russian and Serbian Chambers of Accounts will conduct an audit of the reconstruction of Serbia's railways, the construction of a gas pipeline, the creation of a Nuclear Technology Center and other joint projects.
This was announced by the head of the Accounts Chamber of Russia, Alexei Kudrin, while on a visit to Serbia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation Alexey Kudrin and head of the State Audit Office of Serbia Dusko Pejovic signed an updated cooperation agreement between the two audit services of the two countries. Prior to this, the parties interacted based on an agreement concluded in June 2011.
“Russia is helping to reconstruct the railways of Serbia, we have plans to build a gas pipeline, there is an agreement on free trade, on the creation of a Nuclear Technology Center, which is awaiting ratification, and cultural projects,” Kudrin said. “Therefore, our two chambers can jointly audit these projects; we have a need to work more closely.”
Also, the chairman of the Russian Accounts Chamber told his Serbian colleagues that the competence of auditors should be constantly improved, and the agency he heads can help with this, which has at its disposal an expert platform designed for 250 people and developed training courses.
During the visit, Alexey Kudrin also met with Serbian Prime Minister Anna Brnabic.
It should be noted that in September last year, the head of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation headed the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).
