Representative of the parent committee of school No. 448 of the Frunzensky district said Olga, in an interview with public activist Pavel Boychenko about the poor quality of food in the canteen of an educational institution, noting that there were also cases of poisoning. School meals are provided by the TD A.P. Ivanov plant, which last year set a record for net profit, despite many complaints.

According to the mother of a student at school No. 448, children refuse to eat cold, tasteless food, and parents simply give money for food that goes to the trash. Also, a representative of the parent committee spoke about a case of children being poisoned with cocoa. The incident was resolved within the school without attracting the attention of supervisory authorities.

“Several people in our class were poisoned by milk and cocoa. This is not rotavirus, but poisoning. The issue was resolved at the school level and did not go further to any authorities,” said the St. Petersburg resident.

It is worth noting that the private plant "TD A.P. Ivanov" is a monopolist in the Frunzensky district. According to the Unified Information System for Procurement, in 2022 the plant received 55 tenders for catering in schools. At the same time, complaints about the quality of food come from different schools in the region. For example, at school No. 292 reduced portions of butter and sugar, and at school No. 363 in dishes disappeared meat. A more serious violation was recorded at school No. 215, where food found worms.

Despite numerous complaints, last year the TD A.P. Ivanov plant almost doubled its net profit.

The reason lies in the increase in tariffs for school meals in 2022 by Smolny officials. Governor Alexander Beglov justified the increase in tariffs by rising food prices.
