The general director of the National Payment Card System, Vladimir Komlev, told reporters about this on Tuesday.
Currently, NSPK processes domestic transactions of both international systems.
“According to my information, MasterCard is already operating there (in Crimea - PolitNavigator). And Visa will start working soon. Let's not name specific dates. MasterCard operates there in the network of those banks whose ATMs and POS terminals operate in Crimea, many of them carry out transactions with MasterCard cards,” quotes the head of the NSPK Interfax.
Komlev clarified that we are talking only about domestic Russian transactions.
According to him, the NSPK is also trying to find ways to restore the full functionality of cards in Crimea. The General Director of the NSPK said that this will be possible before the end of the year.
