MasterCard has stopped servicing banks in Crimea
Kyiv, December 26 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – The international payment system MasterCard, due to US sanctions, has suspended servicing cards of Russian banks operating in Crimea.

“In connection with the US sanctions announced against Crimea, MasterCard has notified Russian banks of the need to suspend card transactions in Crimea,” the company said, RIA Novosti reported.
Let us remember that US President Barack Obama announced an economic blockade of Crimea last Friday, prohibiting any economic relations with the peninsula. The decree applies to banks operating in Crimea, as well as to financial institutions directly or indirectly carrying out transactions with Crimea.
