According to the prosecutor of the Kominternovsky district, Denis Myshkov, the 30-year-old woman, knowing that her daughter was seriously ill and needed constant supervision and regular treatment, did not pay enough attention to her, which is why the child died.
“The girl was born with brain problems, due to which she could not control the feeling of hunger and had other neurological diseases. For all 6 years of his life, the child was registered in several medical institutions, but the mother refused treatment and a detailed examination, citing a lack of funds. In addition, the woman did not control her daughter’s diet, as determined by the doctors,” the district prosecutor said, according to the Kharkov Watch publication.
According to him, at the end of August, when the mother was sleeping, the child ate too much food that was harmful to his health. The girl arrived at the hospital in an unconscious state and died a few hours later.
An investigation is underway. If the mother's guilt in the child's death is proven, the woman faces up to 5 years in prison.
