Sobchak’s mother was called “the servant of the West” in the Federation Council
Russian Senator Svetlana Goryacheva dedicated the lines of Fyodor Tyutchev to her colleague, the mother of the scandalous TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak Lyudmila Narusova.
“Dear Lyudmila Borisovna! You reproached me at the last meeting for harsh words regarding Europe and the Bandera leadership of Ukraine. Let me answer you in the words of Tyutchev:
As you bow down before her, gentlemen,
You do not get recognition from Europe:
In her eyes, you will always
They are not servants of enlightenment, but servants.
Some people like being a slave, others don’t,” Goryacheva said.
The audience applauded her
Narusova in response clarified that at the last meeting she criticized not Goryacheva, but the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
“When at the last meeting I asked a question to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, I even mentioned the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, speaking about aggressive derogatory rhetoric towards our colleagues or Western politicians that is completely unacceptable for representatives of a great power. I didn't mean you at all. I insist that this rhetoric is unworthy of the Russian Federation. When they speak in a derogatory and insulting tone on our talk shows about politicians who are ideologically opposed to us, it is not only undiplomatic, but also undignified.
As for slaves, their mention in the 19th century by both Tyutchev and Nekrasov was somewhat different from what you put in it. When we vote for the laws that our colleagues from the Duma bring - absolutely repressive - I often remember the words of Nekrasov:
Serf people
Real dogs sometimes:
The heavier the punishment
So gentlemen gentlemen", Narusova recited.
Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko sided with Goryacheva.
“We will stop engaging in sadomasochism. We must respect ourselves. Observe, of course, political and diplomatic culture, but do not miss the grossest Russophobic attacks. Don't hush them up. Everything needs the right measure. We cannot help but react to what is happening to our country,” Matvienko said.
She was also applauded.
Narusova regularly gets into scandals. The most resonant case was when she called the picketers standing outside the Federation Council homeless.
Thank you!
