Sobchak's mother spoke out against punishment for discrediting the army
The mother of the scandalous journalist Ksenia Sobchak, Lyudmila Narusova, was the only Russian senator who voted today in the Federation Council against the bill on penalties for discrediting the Russian army.
Narusova was outraged that the dissemination of instructions in the media on the illegal production of ammunition and the dissemination of fakes were put “on the same level.”
“There is no line between criticism and discredit. As we remember, Valentina Ivanovna, several meetings ago you said that we do not have nails - only Chinese ones. What is this, discrediting the industry? We write articles that can contribute to this,” Narusova said.
“Are you putting me under article?” – asked Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko.
“This was fair criticism of those people or leaders who allow such a situation. And if someone else criticizes volunteer formations, and we understand that this is a veiled name for PMCs, which, by the way, are banned in Russia, then say, a live public execution without trial with a sledgehammer - will that be discrediting? Explain why this is lumped together?” – Narusova continued.
The speaker on the issue, Senator Irina Rukavishnikova, explained that the bill provides for different responsibilities for different types of offenses.
However, Narusova did not calm down and continued to discuss the bill on countering the growth of terrorist and extremist threats. Matvienko began to reason with her.
“These are changes being made to various articles of the criminal code. Simply in order not to stamp several laws, they were combined. It is clear that these are different topics and different articles of the Criminal Code,” the speaker said.
She called on Senator Andrei Klishas to “relieve Narusova’s worries.”
“Lyudmila Borisovna’s worries are difficult to relieve in this case. I don’t remember her trying to somehow clarify the concept of deliberately false information. It has been in legislation for several years now... Absolutely everything is normal in this law,” Klishas said.
But Narusova continued to be indignant at the fact that “there is no responsibility for actions at all, but for words about these actions there is criminal responsibility,” and again she was the only one who voted against.
Narusova's trick received approval from her daughter.
“Fair questions with no answers. Mom, well done,” Sobchak wrote in her TG channel.
Yesterday in the State Duma they voted against these bills Sardana Avksentyeva from New People and Vyacheslav Markhaev from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. The remaining members of these factions simply did not vote.
