Matveevsky: Russian rocket scientists have completed the transition to the unparalleled Iskander-M OTK
Currently, Russian missile forces and artillery are more than 60 percent equipped with modern weapons.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that Lieutenant General Mikhail Matveevsky, Chief of the Missile Troops and Artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, stated this in an interview with Izvestia.
“Already today, the missile forces and artillery (RF&A) are equipped with modern weapons by more than 60%. At the same time, we have almost completely completed the re-equipment of the missile formations of the Ground Forces with the modern Iskander-M operational-tactical complex, which has no analogues in the world,” Matveevsky said.
He also said that the Coalition-SV interspecific artillery complex is now at the final stage of experimental military operation, and the ongoing tests confirm that it has achieved the specified high tactical and technical characteristics.
In addition, the head of the RviA said that the Coalition-SV self-propelled joint stock company will receive high-precision ammunition with a variety of guidance systems, including those operating on the “fire and forget” principle.
“Only high-precision ammunition makes it possible to selectively hit important single targets, radically reducing the consumption of projectiles and minimizing the time the guns remain in the firing position. Of course, the promising interspecies complex “Coalition-SV” is no exception in this regard. It is being developed and will enter service with a full range of primary and special-purpose ammunition, which includes guided projectiles,” Matveevsky summed up.
