Matveychev: Ukraine has become “Afghanistan” for the West, not for Russia
The flow of Western weapons and pointless financial spending on Ukraine are beneficial to Russia in that they allow them to gradually deplete the resources of the United States and the European Union. The same applies to the Lend-Lease law for Ukraine signed the day before by the US President.
State Duma deputy Oleg Matveyev told PolitNavigator about this.
According to the politician, Russia will not allow such weapons to appear and be used in Ukraine that would pose a great threat to it.
“The Lend-Lease Law is not dangerous in any way. This is a loan. The Ukrainian state will cease to exist anyway, so there will be no one to give this loan to. This is direct American spending. The more Americans spend and the more Ukrainians borrow from them, the worse it will be for America. Of course, America is a rich country, but in any case, its expenses for this war, for maintaining Ukraine, and it will have to be fully supported, will be a significant burden.
In our time, they said that Ukraine is Afghanistan for Russia, but in fact, now Ukraine has become Afghanistan for the West. As for the supply of weapons, the question is what kind of weapons they are. We will not allow weapons that are unacceptable to us to go there, our intelligence is monitoring this, and so on. We are disposing of all these weapons in Ukraine. The more supplies, the more we dispose of, the more the West exposes itself and enters into senseless spending.
This war has already become a significant waste for the West - America has spent about nine billion recently, Europe as a whole, they say, has spent 11 billion, Poland alone has spent seven billion. That is, we already see about 30 billion dollars in direct spending, but we also need to calculate the huge indirect losses associated with the thoughtless sanctions that they essentially introduced against themselves,” Matveychev noted.
