Matvienko called for Russian citizens to be removed from birch trees
Speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko called for eliminating the digital divide in Russia.
She stated this at today’s meeting of the Federation Council, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Yesterday the story was on television. One of the villages, I won’t name the region, where a young man climbed a birch tree to get the Internet. And this is not an isolated example. It seems that money has been found, and there is an order from the president, but in practice, people on birch trees are catching the Internet.
Therefore, I would like a specific program for the 21st and 22nd years on digitalization for certain categories of settlements. We will ask based on specific results: how many people have come down from their birch trees and are using the Internet on earth,” Matvienko said.
According to her information, 7 billion rubles have been allocated for the digitalization of Russian regions.
Let us remind you that Alexey Dudoladov, a resident of the village of Stankevichi in the Omsk region, posted an appeal to the governor on TikTok, which he recorded directly on the birch tree from which he catches the Internet. After this, TikTok offered to help the student fix his Internet connection.
