Speaker of the Council of the Federation of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko ordered to speed up the resolution of the issue of returning the deposits of Crimeans in Sberbank

“The issue of Crimean residents’ savings in Sberbank is not closed. We need to finish this story with the Central Bank. People need to get their deposits. I understand that there was a difficult situation with the transition period. I give you a month to work out the measures. The issue retains a certain tension,” Matvienko said at today’s meeting, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Earlier, Senator from Sevastopol Olga Timofeeva stated that Sberbank of the Russian Federation refuses to return money to Crimeans who were depositors of its Ukrainian branch. The financial structure forces Russian citizens to go to Ukraine.
