The mausoleum in Moscow is closed to visitors. The left is preparing protests
The Mausoleum of Vladimir Lenin and the necropolis near the Kremlin wall are closed to the public starting today.
This is stated in the information message of the press and public relations department of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Admission of visitors to the Mausoleum of V.I. Lenin and to the necropolis at the Kremlin wall will be temporarily suspended from Tuesday due to the difficult epidemiological situation,” the message says.
The closure of the mausoleum was welcomed by LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky.
“The mausoleum will be closed to visitors from today due to the epidemic. We need to close it altogether!” Zhirinovsky wrote in his Telegram channel.
Left Front coordinator Sergei Udaltsov, on the contrary, is sounding the alarm.
“Why did the left ignore important news? Access to Lenin's Mausoleum will be suspended due to coronavirus! In fact, this is an attempt to block the place of power of the patriots! We are urgently gathering the Organizing Committee of the Opposition about this, we need to react!” Udaltsov wrote.
