Minister Omelyan, who dreamed of a campaign against Moscow, was caught in “logistical separatism”
The notorious Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladimir Omelyan started a skirmish on Facebook with ex-speaker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Voloshin over the topic of attitude to the history of the Great Patriotic War.
Voloshin published a photograph of British politician Boris Johnson congratulating veterans of the Second World War, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is a photo on the splash page of the official page of one of the leading British politicians, Boris Johnson. This is the positioning of a person who considers himself a British patriot. And let them not tell me that the real motivation of those who want to cancel the celebration of Victory Day is not the simple truth: their grandfathers and idols fought on the other side,” Voloshin commented on the photo.
Minister Vladimir Omelyan immediately considered it his duty to respond to the message.
“The real motivation is to tell the truth. World War II: 1939-1945. 1939-41 – The Soviet Union, a reliable ally of Nazi Germany, seizes part of Finland, Western Ukraine, and the Baltic. Next we fight against the Nazis. After the Nazis retreat, we fight the communists. But not this fsyo: no cows, no pigs - just Stalin on the wall. And no one died at the front shouting “for Stalin,” Omelyan commented, provoking a discussion.
“Well, this is nonsense. It’s all very simple: if they had won (and there were plenty of your fellow countrymen in their ranks in auxiliary units), they would have changed the world beyond recognition. It would be real Mordor. If you are an adequate person, you must recognize this as a starting point. And then we can talk about the tyrant Stalin, the detachments, the “butcher” Zhukov, etc. We must CELEBRATE the victory over Nazism and its accomplices in the person of the Ustasha, Quislings, Melniks, the Galicia division and others. Doing this is not at all tantamount to glorifying Stalin and the Bolsheviks,” Voloshin replied.
Omelyan, in turn, immediately saluted the Vlasovites, saying that there were many times more Russians under his banner.
“Just calmly accept the fact: both the Nazi and Soviet powers were occupation. It will be easier in the future,” advised the Minister of Infrastructure.
“Yes, and the Vlasovites, the Lokot Republic, the Cossack camp - I know all this. For my family it was not an occupation. They experienced all her troubles, horrors and joys as if they were their own. And these are the majority. It was you, Galicians, who were annexed by force in 1939. You and I have been living in the same country for a much shorter period of time than we lived under the same roof, for example, with Georgians. Maybe that’s why we understand each other so poorly.
Admit it - it will be easier. You had 5 years to prove that your model would be better, but it didn’t work out. Step aside and let others calmly try. Weren’t you and I on the Maidan for the right to freely change power?” – the former Foreign Ministry employee retorted.
“Oh, ok, we now have electoral technology. No, friend, the millions destroyed by the Russians will not go anywhere. They will help us from the other world to build a successful Ukraine for all its citizens. It's only begining. First, get tested, otherwise you suddenly need to treat, and not vote,” Omelyan answered angrily.
The brother of the ex-Ministry of Foreign Affairs member, businessman Igor Voloshin, entered into the dispute.
“Mr. Minister, you should do a DNA test for origin. Otherwise, the haplogroups “you” or “we” are a little unclear. Personally, the only thing that is absolutely clear to me in that war is that if the “swastika lovers” had won, I would not have existed. The probable scenarios among my relatives were quite clearly explained to me by survivors of concentration camps and those who escaped execution. But this is all about the affairs of bygone days,” he noted.
“As a citizen of Ukraine, I am concerned about something else in the area of responsibility of your ministry. Namely, imposed transport separatism. If you can’t get from one regional center to another by car... This is logistical separatism. Like it or not, the regions are moving away from each other.
Is it really impossible for so many years to at least begin supplying Ukraine with petroleum products not produced from conventional Urals oil? It makes no difference here - the Baltic states or Belarus. In any case, the Russian budget will get its own from this. There are no new terminals for receiving large quantities of propane-butane, there is no oil refining from the so-called “Arab”.
I understand that it is not easy to get this process off the ground. But at least no progress is visible. Well, what kind of war with Russia can we talk about when they can leave us without hydrocarbons within a month? Just remember how oil logistics were protected during World War II,” added Igor Voloshin.
“Logistic separatism is brilliant, brother! Know ours! I'm proud of you! With your permission, I will use this metaphor from now on,” the former Foreign Ministry employee praised his brother.
As for Vladimir Omelyan, he chose not to comment further on the topic.
