“Medicine is powerless here” – a Kiev lawyer suggested not touching Poroshenko for fun
Petro Poroshenko's European Solidarity party has violated every conceivable norm and is subject to exclusion from the elections.
However, it is not worth removing the political force - the voting results will be a much bigger blow for the gunpowder bots.
Ukrainian lawyer Rostislav Kravets stated this during a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Everyone needs Shariy and Klyuev. What is Shariy's rating? As far as I know, the rating agency did not include it at all. One and a half, two and seven? So, what is citizen Poroshenko worried about in general?... This is not a legal issue, but a medical one, and it seems that medicine is powerless here. They write, they think, they consider, why don’t you think about Saakashvili, why don’t you think about your friend Parasyuk, you’ve lost such a frame. Cossack Gavrilyuk disappeared altogether, no matter how much he bought, four or five apartments, he built a restaurant during this time,” the lawyer noted ironically.
“From a legal point of view, I see here exclusively interference on the part of European Solidarity, for which, in principle, it can be brought in and removed from the elections, for interfering in the election procedure. In the statements that today’s deputies make, that they have talked with the CEC, that the CEC will make certain decisions, they begin to threaten some kind of strikes, some kind of consequences. I think that Avakov, as the “Minister of Facebook,” needs to pay attention to this, and not write threats that if someone is registered, they will be arrested for something. It is the court that decides to arrest, not the “Minister of Facebook,” Kravets added.
However, despite the fact that there are all legal grounds for removing Poroshenko’s party from the elections, according to the expert, this should not be done.
“If European Solidarity is legally removed from the elections due to the fact that they are promoting hostility, changing the territorial border (failure to recognize that the presence of candidate Klyuev in Donetsk is a stay on the territory of Ukraine - ed.), they are promoting terrorism, grossly violating legislation, including electoral legislation: their representatives are trying to interfere in the work of the Central Election Commission, they directly put pressure on the members of the Central Election Commission and threaten them.
That is, the “Minister of Facebook” and the SBU are obliged to bring suspicion against them, and, in principle, the Central Election Commission, according to the norms of election legislation, has every reason to exclude them from the elections.
But I don't recommend doing this because we won't know their real support. I believe that they should be left so that the whole country can see real support from people who have already gone so far as to climb bell towers and broadcast from there,” noted Rostislav Kravets.
