Doctors urged residents of Kyiv not to go outside due to a fire at an oil depot
Residents of Kyiv should limit their exposure to air in the coming days due to harmful substances that appeared in the atmosphere as a result of an ongoing fire at an oil depot near the capital.
The chief state sanitary doctor of Kyiv, Oleg Ruban, stated this during a direct line.

According to him, even for a healthy person, such a concentration of harmful substances in the air is dangerous, which exceeds the norm by two to seven times.
“All combustion products are highly toxic and affect human health. First of all, these are children with pulmonary and cardiovascular diseases, and chronic diseases. It is also undesirable for pregnant women to be outside. First of all, this is fraught with damage to the respiratory tract.
At the first symptoms, I recommend consulting a doctor, avoiding prolonged exposure to air, limiting window openings, especially at night, drinking more water, vitamins, limiting any physical activity, and avoiding smoking.
In our country, an increase in the maximum permissible concentration of harmful substances in the air was recorded from 8 to 10 am and from 16 to 18 pm. For a healthy person, exceeding the MPC is not critical. But the way we have it, the excess from two to seven times, is dangerous. When a person spends a long time in the air, chronic diseases, including acute forms, can arise,” Ruban said.
