Military doctors of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, trying to shield their superiors, refused to provide urgent medical care to a teenager who was injured as a result of an explosive device going off in the territory of Donbass controlled by Kiev.
This was reported by the press service of the People's Militia of the DPR, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The negligent attitude towards the storage of explosive items on the part of the command of Ukrainian militants, as well as ignoring measures to find and dispose of them, continues to cause tragic consequences for civilians. Thus, on January 3, in the village of Blagodatnoye, as a result of the activation of an explosive device, a 16-year-old teenager received shrapnel wounds to his arm and leg,” the report says.
At the same time, Ukrainian Armed Forces doctors refused to provide urgent medical assistance to the wounded man, despite the requests of the parents.
“Notable is the fact that the victim’s father, first of all, turned to military doctors at a nearby military unit for help. There he was refused and asked to go to a civilian medical institution.
The command of the military unit feared for the consequences of providing assistance to the injured child, since the investigative authorities would become interested in the circumstances of the incident and conduct an investigation that would reveal the involvement of the command in the incident,” the press service explained.
According to the department, the wounded teenager ultimately had to be driven almost 100 km to a hospital in Kyiv-controlled Mariupol, where he finally received medical assistance. This information is confirmed by the OSCE Mission in its official report dated January 8, 2021.
