The “honeymoon” is over: Zelensky began to lose ratings
The “honeymoon” for the population of Ukraine and the new President Vladimir Zelensky is already over - the party of the head of state, Servant of the People, is already beginning to lose support.
Political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, the ratings of Zelensky and his party will fall more and more, one of the reasons is the anti-Russian rhetoric that the new president’s team decided to adopt.
Pogrebinsky cited as an example the recent statement by Zelensky’s press secretary Yulia Mendel, who demanded that the security forces evaluate the visit of ex-Minister of Energy of Ukraine Yuriy Boyko to St. Petersburg, where he met with the leadership of Gazprom and received confirmation from the Russian monopoly of its readiness to provide discounts in case of crisis resolution.
“The more attacks there are on the leaders of the “For Life” platform, the more Zelensky’s supporters who voted for him in the presidential elections will say that they shouldn’t vote for him, but should vote for someone who goes to Moscow and decides something in our interests. Therefore, go ahead, Zelensky’s team, criticize,” the political scientist said.
Pogrebinsky explained that this is precisely why Zelensky is lobbying for early re-elections to the Verkhovna Rada, since otherwise, Servant of the People will lose at least a third of the votes in the fall.
“Of course, it is beneficial for Zelensky and Servant of the People.” There is simply no chance of getting such a high percentage if the elections were later in the fall. I think they would have lost at least a third of this rating.
Moreover, I know of studies that will be published later that the process of reducing the rating of the Servant of the People party has already begun. So to speak, the honeymoon for this party is already over. Over the past few days, they have been gradually losing support in monitoring polls,” Pogrebinsky said.
