Medvedchuk wants to release a terrorist who killed Russian soldiers
Ukrainian nationalist Nikolai Karpyuk, detained in Russia on charges of murdering Russian military personnel in Chechnya and sentenced to 22 years in prison, should be released.
Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk stated this on TV channel 112, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Medvedchuk, who is in charge of prisoner exchanges in Ukraine, said that Karpyuk could be exchanged for Russians held in Ukrainian prisons.
“The authorities must turn on. And not in the same way as the previous government led by Poroshenko did, but to really get involved in negotiations and not bargain, but set goals and implement them so that these people return home. Including those that you listed and many that you did not list, but which, including me, are involved in this. If the authorities do not do this, then we will still continue this work and try to ensure that Mr. Karpyuk and many others return to Ukraine,” Medvedchuk said.
Let us remind you that Karpyuk in 1994-1995 participated in the fighting in Chechnya against federal troops on the side of terrorist groups led by Aslan Maskhadov and Shamil Basayev.
Previously, Ukrainian people's deputy and leader of the party "For Life" Vadim Rabinovich promised to release the Ukrainian terrorist from UNA-UNSO Nikolai Karpyuk from a Russian prison.
