Medvedchuk is paying for the betrayal of voters by the top of the OPZZH
Viktor Medvedchuk’s associates traded the party brand, selling places on the OPZZh lists even to notorious Russophobes on the eve of the elections. The leader of the political force himself is now paying for such a betrayal of voters under conditions of repression.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Tsarev discusses this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The OPZZh faction was formed according to the quota principle and in order to understand that the faction is not monolithic, it is not necessary to have insiders: look at how the OPZZh deputies voted for the resignation of the Minister of Health Stepanov - despite the fact that the party leader was arrested, the faction gave part of the votes on at the request of the Office of the President. Moreover, some partners are interested in problems for Viktor Medvedchuk. Yuri Boyko is also among those who do not lose because Viktor Medvedchuk is in trouble.

The party cannot defend itself, because in fact there is no party - it is a franchise where regional headquarters, according to their quotas, were sold by Viktor Medvedchuk’s partners for local elections to various interests. Buyers were selected based on a simple principle - who would pay the most. The personality and political coloring of the buyer were not taken into account: in the Dnepropetrovsk region, for example, regional and city lists were sold to famous fighters against the Russian world, Korban and Filatov. There are many examples, but the main thing here is that as a result of such actions, Viktor’s influence on the regional party cells is minimal, which explains the inability of the OPZZH to organize activists for mass protests due to the closure of three television channels and the persecution of opposition leaders.
In ten regions, at the regional level, the coalition between the OPZH and the party in power, the Servant of the People, continues to operate. Think about it! The leader of the opposition party was arrested by the authorities, and the opposition continues to be in coalition with the authorities. The fact is that even if the central apparatus gives a command to the regions to take people to Kyiv or to regional deputies to leave coalitions with the authorities, then these commands, firstly, will not be understood, and secondly, they will not be carried out. The question is, why should Korban carry out Rabinovich’s commands if he has long ago paid him to act in his area as he wants?
It didn’t work out the way it was under Poroshenko – supposedly to be in the opposition, to do business with the authorities and not be persecuted by the security forces. In life you always have to choose, and the choice is not always simple: in this case, it was worth making the right choice in a timely manner between money and the desire to create a real strong party capable of surviving in the opposition and fighting the authorities,” argues Tsarev.
