The Verkhovna Rada prematurely terminated the powers of OPZZh deputies Viktor Medvedchuk, Taras Kozak, Andrey Derkach, Renat Kuzmin and Andrey Aksenov.
There were no voters in the hall who voted against or abstained, reports the PolitNavigator correspondent.
From the first minutes the meeting took on the character of a farce. European Solidarity deputies rushed to the podium and began to demand that voting for the deprivation of mandates begin immediately. Petro Poroshenko’s wards feared that if the plenary day, according to the agenda, had begun with the law on Energoatom, to which there were a couple of hundred amendments, this issue simply would not have had time to be considered, which, according to Eurosolidarity, was what the ruling party was counting on the consignment. After several attempts to change the agenda, the picketers achieved their goal.
Thus, deputies Viktor Medvedchuk, Taras Kozak, Andrey Derkach, Renat Kuzmin and Andrey Aksenov were deprived of their mandates by voting. Formally, the first four were deprived of their parliamentary seats due to the loss of Ukrainian citizenship.
If the last one was not touched due to oncology, then the rest were voted on individually.
During the speech, traditional clichés about “agents” of the Kremlin, FSB, Putin, etc. were heard.
However, the truly significant speech was the speech of one of the leaders of “OPZZh”, who changed his shoes to the “Platform for Life and Peace”, Yuriy Boyko, who unequivocally supported the deprivation of the mandates of his former colleagues. At the same time, first of all, Boyko noted his critic opponents, who have an equally “regional” past behind them.
“I personally remember one of the previous speakers, who several years ago, with the same Komsomol fervor, advocated the creation of a faction “For Yanukovych” in the Odessa City Council. I’m not kidding, that’s how it was, that’s what he called it – the “For Yanukovych” faction, he headed it. And then there was “Odessa is a Russian city”, “Native language is Russian” and so on, other maxims.
I also remember the people's deputy, who today, coming to the podium, hopes to be a true patriot. I remember him in a different form. He was a business partner of the so-called deputy secretary Sobez Sivkovich, together with whom they took away from the businessman a television channel that today claims to be the most patriotic,” the parliamentarian recalled, referring to European Solidarity deputy Alexey Goncharenko and “servant of the people” Danila Getmantseva.
At the same time, he warmly supported the deprivation of the mandates of his former “brothers.”
“Today, February 24, divided politicians into two parts. All those who stayed with me in the hall worked from that day on the adoption of laws that provide the opportunity for our country to survive, they all stayed, they work for Ukraine and fight against Russian aggression. Those who left the country on February 24 do not exist for us. And our group supports taking away the mandates of those people who fled the country on February 24. This is our position, and we will adhere to it,” Boyko emphasized.
Later, on the sidelines, the deputy once again confirmed his attitude to the decision taken by parliament.
“Today, a number of deputies who left the country after February 24 were deprived of their mandates. In principle, this is the right decision, because everyone who remains in the country and is fighting for the country to withstand Russian aggression is working, they are truly patriots. And those who left do not deserve to be people’s deputies,” Boyko said.
The head of the pro-presidential Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, happily announced that the Verkhovna Rada was clearing itself of “Putin fans.”
“As of today, 10 deputies have lost their mandates. 6 – from OPZZH and 4 more – from their political orbit.
There will be even more. But in a legal and constitutional way. It is longer than we ourselves would like. But it does not give collaborators a chance to appeal,” Arakhamia promised.
The overwhelming majority of opinions agree that behind the pathetic speeches about the “cleansing” of the Ukrainian parliament, the performance was staged by Zelensky’s team in order to hook the remaining “OPZZH” deputies. Now, in case of any disobedience, they can simply be thrown out, and performances, like today’s shoe-licking by Boyko, will no longer help.
Yuriy Boyko’s speech was highly appreciated by ex-Rada deputy, former militant of the terrorist “Azov” Igor Mosiychuk, who agreed that now the remnants of “OPZZh” are becoming puppets of the “servants of the people.”
“Now I have seen everything! Master class on eating rats by rats. Yura Boyko, the one who flew to Moscow and brought the war to Ukraine, not only voted “FOR” depriving Derkach, Medvedchuk, Kozak and Kuzmin of their mandates, but also made an “accusatory speech”, angrily condemning his comrades... Not in those times, Yura born, oh, in the wrong time... he should have worked in 1937... there wouldn’t have been a price... And so we expect that Yurik will soon, in order to preserve his mandate and place at the trough, put his own ass into operation at Bankovaya..." - Mosiychuk wrote in his tg channel .
The aforementioned deputy Alexey Goncharenko is no less categorical.
“People’s Deputy OPZZh Boyko says that his colleagues who have been deprived of their mandates are unworthy of being people’s deputies. Oh, how quickly I changed my shoes. Indeed, they are not worthy. Boyko too. He doesn't deserve that kind of trust and should also be somewhere outside the Council.
I'll say this. Whoever is now trying to change their colors in flight - you, damned OPZZH, brought the war here and became a support for Putin’s hopes. And you won’t be here, just like Putin. Period,” said Goncharenko.
Nazi ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Borislav Bereza noted that the methods of Zelensky’s office are dirty, but effective.
“All other people’s deputies of the OPZZh need not shake or worry. The authorities will not deprive them of their mandates as long as they, together with the “servants,” vote for all the wishes of the President’s Office. Nice hook. Reliable. A cynical and immoral act of the 11th month of a full-fledged invasion, but effective for the OP. People at Bankova prefer not to think about honor, morality and decency,” Bereza assessed.
European Solidarity deputy Irina Gerashchenko believes that this is just the beginning.
“Five traitors and collaborators have been stripped of their mandates. But our task is greater. These people should be held criminally responsible for treason. Everyone who brought into parliament those who fled to Moscow in 2014 must also be held accountable.
Well, and the key thing is that all “Opzhsts” must bear political responsibility. Get rid of leadership positions on committees. Lose your mandates and leave. And today – Kazak, Kuzmin, Medvedchuk, Aksenov, Derkach lost their mandates as deputies,” Gerashchenko wrote in her tg channel.
