Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, speaking today at the United Russia congress, called not to succumb to the provocations that opponents will stage during the regional elections in the fall of 2017.

“The campaign will be difficult - there are no easy campaigns, especially since this is the last election before the election of the president. And many of our opponents and ideological opponents will take advantage of this to actually start the presidential campaign ahead of schedule. Our party should not succumb to provocations, should not get involved in meaningless political intrigues,” Medvedev said.

He called on United Russia members to “act strictly within the framework of the electoral legislation.” The Prime Minister recalled that on a single voting day, September 10, elections will be held in more than 30 regions.
