Medvedev explained how Russia can join NATO
Part of Russia may join NATO if the collective West wins and its plans to dismember the country are implemented.
Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said this while answering questions from Russian journalists and VKontakte users, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The desire is simple - to destabilize the political situation, divide the country into fairly large parts, come to an agreement with each of these parts, carry out denuclearization and demilitarization. And then come and offer your services: now you need someone to guard you. Such pieces even have a chance of joining NATO, especially on the terms of dividing our national wealth. The Anglo-Saxon world is trying to manage all this,” Medvedev said.
According to him, in the first years after the collapse of the USSR this plan was implemented.
“In the 90s, they generally believed that they would install leaders in our country. Their emissaries, political consultants, economic analysts were everywhere. Some simply worked for intelligence, some earned money, some combined. Because fish are caught well in muddy water. And then we told them: no. And they were very offended, but they don’t stop trying,” Medvedev said.
Then, as the deputy chairman of the Security Council put it, “China took off and we got rid of it,” and the West’s plan failed.
