Medvedev: “We can stop talking about Kazakhstan’s special path. Nothing without Russia"
The sending of Russian peacekeepers as part of the CSTO forces to Kazakhstan means that in the 30 years after the collapse of the Soviet Union, this republic has not emerged as a full-fledged state.
Russian journalist Andrei Medvedev writes about this on his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Medvedev also believes that Russia should not participate in the processes taking place in Kazakhstan without guarantees for the Russian-speaking population and the status of the Russian language in this country as the state language.
«Dispatch of collective peacekeeping forces The CSTO in Kazakhstan actually means this. In the thirtieth year of Kazakh independence, we can say that this state did not come into existence. If the army is not so combat-ready that it cannot disperse armed marauders (or even mythical terrorists), the special services are not able to predict the development of events, and local power has faded in two days. If peacekeepers are needed to restore order, then all talk about an important regional player and a special Kazakh path can be stopped. This is not a complete failed state yet, but close to it,” the author believes.
“That is, 30 years after getting rid of the imperial shackles, it turned out that order cannot be restored without Russian soldiers? Well then. However, I repeat, I am not a supporter of our participation without guarantees for a change in Kazakhstan’s internal course. Yes, I'm talking about Russians and the Russian language. And about multi-vector. Any service must be paid for. But decisions are made by people smarter than me, and we don’t know what’s behind the scenes of the decision. And if we come, we must stay. Create Turkestan Military District 2.0. By the way, how is the Turanian brotherhood doing there? How is Turan's army? Neo-Ottomanism? Did it help a lot?” Medvedev writes.
