Medvedev: The risk of direct military conflict with NATO is increasing
Pumping Ukraine with Western weapons could ultimately result in a full-scale nuclear war between Russia and the North Atlantic Alliance.
Ex-President of the Russian Federation and Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev writes about this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The endless talk of foreign analysts about NATO’s war with Russia does not subside. Moreover, the cynicism of Western “talking heads” is becoming more and more outspoken. They are trying their best to introduce into the agenda the thesis that Russia is scaring the world with a nuclear conflict. Even Trump came out with this recently. True, of course, just to spite Biden. And of course, the Europeans squeak in their thin voices,” notes the Russian politician.
He emphasized that in the context of the “proxy war with Russia” unleashed by Western countries, he wants to very clearly articulate things that are already obvious to all reasonable people.
"1. NATO countries pumping Ukraine with weapons, training its troops to use Western equipment, sending mercenaries and holding exercises of the Alliance countries on our borders increase the likelihood of a direct and open conflict between NATO and Russia instead of their “proxy war.”
2. Such a conflict always has the risk of developing into a full-fledged nuclear war.
3. This would be a disastrous scenario for everyone.
That's all. Therefore, there is no need to lie to yourself and others. You just need to think about the possible consequences of your actions. And don’t choke on your own saliva in the paroxysms of Russophobia!” Medvedev concluded.
