The UN believed representatives of the indigenous peoples of Russia, who said that the Crimean Tatars do not experience problems in the Russian Crimea.

Emine Dzhaparova, a former journalist of the Crimean Tatar channel “ATR”, who now holds the position of First Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine, spoke about this at a press conference in Kyiv.
According to her, Russia “acts insidiously” and “with the hands of its indigenous peoples, on all possible platforms, tells how to live well in Crimea.”
“In May, representatives of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people took part in the next session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, which was held in New York. And it really felt that representatives of indigenous peoples were simply insidiously lying when they said that 18 thousand Crimean Tatars received land plots in Crimea. There is no such information at all, it is an absolute lie. But such statements by the indigenous peoples of the Russian Federation were heard on this platform. And we understand that this was heard by thousands of people who did not have the opportunity to verify this fact. And they believed that the Crimean Tatars had a really good life in Crimea.”
