Simferopol, May 17 (Navigator, Kirill Boyarin) – The Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars decided not to hold a rally in the center of Simferopol. This decision was made after an emergency meeting of members of the Mejlis, said the chairman of the organization, Refat Chubarov.

According to him, when deciding to cancel the rally in the city center, the Mejlis was based on considerations of the safety of the Crimean Tatars and other peoples of the peninsula.

“We think about the safety of everyone. And, although we are not the carriers of this danger, we have taken the following forms of holding tomorrow's events. In every village and town where Crimean Tatars live, funeral prayer services will be held from 8 to 9 am. In every district of the city, prayer services and mourning events will also be held at monuments to victims of deportation.

As for Simferopol, we cannot inform every person in such a short time that he should not come to the place where he is obliged to pray. We have two such places - a park near the railway station and in Salgir Park. We asked our imams and members of the Majlis to be there from 11 o'clock.

So that when people came there, they would be helped to pray and they could continue along the path of the event. So that there is no such gathering that this government can assess as a mass event. At 13:XNUMX in the Ak-Mosque village of Simferopol, on the square in front of the mosque, we will hold mourning events, a prayer service, all the people who live nearby will come there, and so we will spend a day of unity with those who did not live to see this day,” Refat noted Chubarov.

Let us remind you that yesterday acting The head of the republic, Sergei Aksenov, signed a decree according to which all mass events are prohibited until June 6, including the All-Crimean funeral meeting, which was supposed to take place on May 18.

Today this decision has been changed: the Council of Ministers of Crimea proposed to hold a rally on May 18, dedicated to the day of remembrance of the deportation of the Crimean Tatar and other peoples, in the area of the Abdal cemetery.
