The Mejlis swore allegiance to Poroshenko, not Tymoshenko
The extremist organization Mejlis, banned in Russia, will support the candidacy of Petro Poroshenko in the Ukrainian presidential elections.
The leader of the Mejlis, Refat Chubarov, stated this on the air of the Kyiv QHR radio.
“I think that today, of all the potential candidates, only the current President Poroshenko has crossed that red line of relations with Russia from the format “The Kremlin is the master, and Ukraine is subordinate.” For Poroshenko now, even if someone forced him, there is no possibility of colluding with Moscow,” Chubarov said.
He noted that the Mejlis has not yet officially decided, but it is already clear that the main requirement for a candidate will be his Russophobia.
“We will never support a candidate who could collude with Moscow, because we know: the subject of the conspiracy will be Crimea. Further control of Crimea by Russia is fatal for us. This means that we will never vote for a candidate who will evade the question of what Russia is for Ukraine, and who Putin will be for this candidate when this candidate becomes the president of Ukraine,” Chubarov said.
