Mejlis member Umerov was placed in a psychiatric hospital

The deputy chairman of the Majlis, banned in the Russian Federation, Ilmi Umerov, was placed in a psychiatric hospital for examination. This was announced by his lawyer Nariman Dzhelyalov.

“Ilmi Umerov was placed in the ninth department of the inpatient forensic psychiatric examination for persons not in custody. According to the sign at the entrance, relatives are allowed to visit here and deliveries are allowed,” the lawyer said on Facebook.
A criminal case was opened against Umerov, the former head of the Bakhchisarai regional state administration in Ukrainian times, for public statements on TV challenging the Russian ownership of Crimea.
