Members of the Mejlis cannot be pleased - they criticize the law on “decommunization” of Crimea
Members of the Mejlis were offended by Ukraine because of the law on decommunization, according to which settlements on the peninsula are not renamed immediately, but only after a hypothetical “de-occupation.”
Such claims were aired on the talk show “People. Hard Talk” was voiced by one of the leaders of the ATR TV channel, journalist Osman Pashayev.

According to him, in a similar situation with the uncontrolled Donbass, the renaming took place without any delays.
“Across the country, laws are being adopted on decommunization, changing the names of communist toponyms to Ukrainian historical ones, or to new ones, if there were no historical ones. What is accepted for Crimea - names for Crimea, a total of 70 settlements, will be returned after de-occupation. There is no such reservation for Donbass; their names have already been returned to them. In Crimea, these are mainly Crimean Tatar names, there are none... Now, if today the Crimean Tatar understood that all over the world on maps it is not the city of Belogorsk, but Karasubazar - this is important,” Pashayev said.
