Members of the Mejlis dodge, explaining how Islyamov first works in the “occupation power” and then blocks Crimea
Former Deputy Prime Minister of Russian Crimea, owner of the ATR TV channel Lenur Islyamov, who fled to Kyiv and has now become the coordinator of the blockade of the peninsula, is not being persecuted in Ukraine because he carried out the will of the Majlis by collaborating with the Russian authorities in Crimea. People's Deputy and one of the initiators of the blockade of Crimea Refat Chubarov stated this on the air of the Left Bank talk show.

According to him, the Majlis in the Crimean government needed Islyamov as a person who could influence “some processes” at that time.
“He was part of the executive body of government sent there by the Mejlis. I’m not talking now about what certain people who are sent to negotiations, including with Putin, are doing. I’m not saying what the role of those military men who were heading to Crimea for negotiations was, how to extract hardware from there - tanks and cars. In the situation when we found ourselves under occupation, we, as the Crimean Tatar people, were not protected by anyone, including our own state, which for 23 years did not allow us to do anything so that in such exceptional situations we could protect the rights of hundreds of thousands of people, was not recognized by the Majlis. And when we found ourselves in this situation, all the people did not look at Ukraine, but looked at the Majlis. I could not manage certain processes without having one or two people in those positions where somehow it would be possible to prevent catastrophic misfortunes that, from our point of view, could then occur,” Chubarov said.
Let us recall that recently the influential Ukrainian publication “Zerkalo Nedeli” published an article stating that Ukrainian law enforcement agencies have every reason to be interested in the figure of the owner of the Crimean Tatar TV channel ATR Lenur Islyamov, who until recently was the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian government of Crimea, and has now defected on the Ukrainian side and oversees the blockade of the peninsula.
