Crimean journalist Zakir Zakirov wrote about this in his Livejornal.
According to his information, at the moment there is no exact date for the meeting, but it is known that people’s deputy Mustafa Dzhemilev and the head of the Mejlis Refat Chubarov will take part in it.
The agenda is still being finalized, but it is already known that the meeting will discuss the possible participation of some Kurultai delegates in the elections on September 14. The meeting is expected to take place on July 4th.
Let us recall that on June 12, the Majlis at its meeting decided to boycott the upcoming elections to the republican parliament.
“Representatives of the informal group of “officials” in the Majlis ignored the decision of the representative body. They have repeatedly spoken out in the media about the need to hold an extraordinary national congress of Crimean Tatars, at which the boycott of elections to the State Council of the republic may be reconsidered. According to one version, “officials” will be elected to parliament on the lists of United Russia.
Supporters of Refat Chubarov are also talking about the need to hold a Kurultai, but so far none of the influence groups has demonstrated readiness to take decisive action. One of the fears may be that at the congress the delegates may raise the issue point-blank: to re-elect the composition of the Chejlis and expel all those who “fine” from the representative body,” informs Zakir Zakirov.
