Mejlis members called Zelensky a cynic and demanded national autonomy
Representatives of the Majlis, banned in Russia, continue to demand national autonomy from the new President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky.
Thus, on the air of the Crimean Tatar TV channel “ATR”, Deputy Head of the Mejlis Akhtem Chiygoz said that Zelensky and his team are cynical people and do not understand the “deprivations” of the Crimean Tatar people, but must immediately provide them with territorial national autonomy, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“He still doesn’t understand, and his team doesn’t understand that we are talking about the fight against the enemy, the occupier for the integrity of Russia (the reservation, apparently, meant Ukraine - approx. “PN”). Those sufferings, deprivations, deaths are the price of this struggle. What kind of compensation (can we talk about - approx. "PN")? So be cynical. They are very similar in this cynicism to people like Putin, who count the lives of people. What does "legal aspect" mean? This, again, is a misunderstanding of our problem, this is an attempt to level it, to lead somewhere into the discussions that we have been going through for 25 years.
Today, giving the status of the Crimean Tatar national territorial autonomy is the duty and obligation of this state, which we have endured with our blood and decency over the years, fighting and building an independent Ukraine. This is an act of the highest degree of justice towards us. This, after all, is the most serious tool for the return of Crimea on international platforms. This means that the struggle will have clear visions, criteria on the territory of Crimea and on international platforms,” he stressed.
Let us recall that PolitNavigator previously reported that the Mejlis disenfranchised, working in support of Dzhemilev-Chubarov, tried to remind themselves by asking Poroshenko and Zelensky: “Candidate, tell me: whose Crimea?”
