Member of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars Gayana Yuksel reported this on her Facebook page.
“I learned with interest that, together with other members of the Majlis, she was declared one of the 14 “radical members of the Majlis.” Probably for the fact that, in accordance with the procedure established by the law of the Russian Federation, she contacted local authorities regarding the holding of a mourning event in Simferopol dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Deportation of the Crimean Tatar people on May 18, 1944,” the activist wrote.
According to Yuksel, she received the warning the day before after a visit to her house by employees of the prosecutor’s office and representatives of the Center for Combating Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
In addition to Gayana Yuksel, the first deputy chairman of the Mejlis, Nariman Jelal, and a member of the Mejlis, Dilyaver Akiev, received similar warnings.
