Employees of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea, detained a group of people consisting of members of the extremist organization “Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People” banned in the Russian Federation, who extorted money from a Turkish citizen on an especially large scale.

The Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 163 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Extortion committed by a group of persons”).
