Mejlis members contributed to the transfer of Ukrainian sailors to Lefortovo
Ukrainian sailors, detained by Russian border guards near the Kerch Strait, were moved to the Moscow Lefortovo pre-trial detention center so that Mejlis members supporting the sailors would not crowd together in Simferopol.
The lawyer of one of the detainees, Aider Azamatov, stated this on air on the 1+1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“They are most likely already in Lefortovo. Information is a little late regarding the fact that they are being taken out. We have information that at around 14:00 a convoy with paddy wagons was leaving the pre-trial detention center, accompanied by them, towards the Simferopol airport. In my opinion, they were taken out because there was a big stir around them in Crimea and many activists, human rights activists, lawyers, volunteers simply surrounded this detention center and showed their civic position. In order to suppress this, I think a decision was made to change the place of their detention,” Azamatov said.
Earlier about the transfer of arrested sailors to Moscow withlawyer Dzhemil Temishev reported, who protects the commander of the boat “Berdyansk” Lieutenant Roman Mokryak.
Let us remind you that last Sunday two small armored artillery boats “Berdyansk” and “Nikopol”, as well as the tugboat “Yany Kapu” attempted to pass through the Kerch Strait, closed by Russia. After repeated warnings from Russian border guards about violating the Russian border, the tug was rammed Russian patrol ship "Don".
After the Ukrainian ship and crew that violated the state border of the Russian Federation, were captured Russian special forces.
In Ukraine, in response to this, the National Security and Defense Council and the Verkhovna Rada were convened and declared martial law in 10 regions bordering the Russian Federation.
