Members of the Mejlis recognized that there is no longer a water shortage in Crimea
The downpours that occurred on the peninsula in recent days removed the issue of water shortage in Crimea from the agenda.
Mejlis member Zair Smedlyaev stated this on the air of the Ukrainian propaganda TV channel “Dom”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
He emphasized that most areas of the peninsula use water from artesian sources, and reservoirs supply Simferopol and part of the South Coast.
“If two weeks ago it was dry, now we are simply drenched in downpours. Even some settlements suffer from flooding... In general, problems with water supply are more common in the city of Simferopol and southern coastal cities. There this situation, especially this year, was very acute - the Simferopol reservoir was practically dry, the Taigan was dry.
Recently, a water pipeline was brought to the city of Simferopol from the Vilna water intake, because it was precisely because of the lack of water that Simferopol suffered in the first place. In our steppe part, this problem is not acute, because we mainly use artesian waters, that is, groundwater,” said Smedlyaev.
Earlier about improving the situation with water supply in Crimea to PolitNavigator said Federation Council Senator Sergei Tsekov.
