Mejlis members demand the same victim status as Bandera’s members
Members of the Mejlis in Kyiv claim that they have always been a stronghold of “Independence” in Crimea. This was stated on Channel 5 by the deputy head of the Mejlis, banned in the Russian Federation, and recently pardoned by the President of the Russian Federation, Akhtem Chiygoz, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to Chiygoz, members of the Mejlis have always opposed the establishment of the Russian Empire in Crimea.
“Crimea is a place in history that has always shown the unity of the Crimean Tatars with the Ukrainian people, and at the same time has always expressed a counterbalance to this Russian Empire, its formation. Whom they destroyed - first they took the Ukrainian people under bondage, and then the Crimean Khanate. Then there was the Soviet era, when they said “Bandera” and brought up their own. And they also said about the Crimean Tatars that they are traitors,” Chiygoz said.
